Mountain View, CA 6/2/14 – We recently had an opportunity to spend a day with one of our customers, GVTC Communications, down in the beautiful Texas hill country between San Antonio and Austin. A number of top level executives were very gracious with their time and provided us with a huge amount of interesting and very valuable information about process improvement, corporate governance and how to run successful large and small process application implementations. Their company story is intriguing, having started as a regional telephone monopoly and morphed to a leading-edge broadband and fiber communications provider in “coopetition” with the likes of Verizon, AT&T and Time Warner in the sprawling San Antonio-Austin metroplex. They detailed this journey for us along with citing the challenges of turning both the business and the culture from one where they were “the only game in town” to a highly competitive fast growing business where customer service, innovation and rapid change have become the way of life. Needless to say, creating sustainable processes has become a cornerstone of their business planning.
There is so much great information they imparted we decided to make a series of videos to share with our customers, partners and prospective customers to share some of GVTC’s insights and techniques across a spectrum of subjects including changing the culture toward a process-centric environment, how to create a “process factory”, why the correct process automation tools matter and what processes to tackle, when and why.
