This past week, 17,000 Microsoft partners descended upon a hot and humid Washington D.C. to get the latest Microsoft news, share industry best practices, and take home a suitcase full of booth swag. In addition to the usual excitement, Microsoft announced a massive re-org ahead of the conference, adding uncertainty for partners and Microsoft staffers alike.
Beyond these distractions, Microsoft packed in 3 days of informative keynotes that speak to the company’s areas of focus over the next years.
Everyone’s favorite buzzword definitely took center stage this year, with Microsoft placing partner solutions in the spotlight. While there were many terrific examples, there were a few that stood out to us. In particular, partner HHPBerlin showcased how they are transforming fire safety. Much like AgilePoint’s recent Managed Fire Alarm use case, IoT inputs are increasingly informing businesses of today. Leveraging newer technologies such as Azure IoT hub, Cognitive API and the like, it’s never been easier to build industrial-strength IoT solutions via drag-drop and configure techniques.
Microsoft’s Judson Althoff broke down the 4 pillars of Digital Transformation:
- Empowering Employees
- Engaging Customers
- Optimizing Operations
- Transforming Products
Talk to us today about how AgilePoint can deliver on these pillars, best practices from our customers, and real-world examples that didn’t make it to the main stage Keynote.
AI & IoT
A few years ago, if you brought up the topics of IoT and AI, you’d likely expect a set of glazed over eyeballs, and fears of robots taking our jobs. While there’s still some of that, many realized this week that these technologies are much closer than you think. While there will always be room for smart TV’s & refridgerators, AI and IoT are helping us make sense of an increasingly chaotic world.
Traditionally, applications are great at handling structured data and process, but as we know, that’s just not the world we live in. Seeing partners take advantage of Cognitive Services, Azure IoT Hub and many others in real life scenarios is great to see. Many partners highlighted how AI can help make sense of disparate data sets and offer actionable insights into next steps and other decision points, all things that AgilePoint has been doing for some time. Give us a call, and we’d be glad to share with you how we can help these futuristic technologies create business value TODAY.
Evolve, Or Die!
Day 1 Keynote focused a lot around how partners need to continue to evolve in the Cloud-first era, and provided prescriptive guidance on how to get there. The days of managed infrastructure and hosting are dwindling, so partners need to change their strategies to survive. Moving away from deployment services, of course, only makes sense. Microsoft, and others, are increasingly blurring the lines between on-premises and cloud capabilities, so how do we stay relevant?
Well, one way, is to create value for your customers by capitalizing on your domain experience. Are you a Dynamics specialist, or perhaps focused on delivering value to the Public Sector? Great! Take that expertise, and roll in into your own IP. By combining industry knowledge, and packing that into customer solutions, you’ll always be ahead of the competition. Chat with us to learn more about AgilePoint’s OEM program, and learn how we make it easy to package, and sell, your own IP.
