It’s an era of mobile devices!
Whether you’re on your way home from work, enjoying an evening on the town, or preparing for your nighttime rituals, mobile devices have undeniably permeated almost every facet of our daily lives. Frankly, I seldom make it out the front door without having to check an email or look up current events on my mobile device.
As AgilePoint gears up for the mobile evolution, I had the unique opportunity to test out our very first mobile application prototype – AgilePoint for the iPad. With a simple tap of the screen, I launched a simple enough IT Equipment Request Process and right away was able to access my to-do list, my team’s tasks, and a litany of options to cancel, reassign, delegate, and view any process, any time.
I’m not going to highlight all the bells and whistles, for that purpose we have put together a video demonstration. What I do want to highlight are my thoughts post evaluation. It was easy.
Instantaneously, dozens upon dozens of processes from vacation requests, to expense reports, to the complex intricacies of supply chain management procedures all came to mind. I mean, what process can’t benefit from mobile enablement?
Imagine a technology solution where your on-the-go resources (field representatives, service agents, traveling nurses, etc.) are able to start, monitor, and manage their processes through a simple and intuitive mobile interface. Now, imagine stakeholders being able to tap into the same resources in order to run real time reports, proactively respond to bottlenecks, and ensure SLA’s are met.
Imagine the auditing capabilities. Imagine the efficiency gains. Imagine the possibilities.
No longer is (or should) your business be constrained to the thousands of paper-based, Excel-based, and code-based processes that continue to beleaguer the speed and efficiency of delivery today. It’s an economy of having to do more with much less, and without sacrifice.
This is the promise of Business Process Management.
As AgilePoint continues to transform BPM technology to embrace the mobile culture, I’m thrilled to be on the front edge of this technology. I love it.
Be on the lookout as we look to innovate and include an unparalleled mobile framework as part of our already revolutionary BPM technology stack.
